Welcome to Outlander Cast

We are fans who built a home for people who want more from Outlander — more conversation, more context, more personality, and more reasons to keep going deeper into the story.

You Belong Here

Written by fans, for the fans

Outlander Cast is built around the idea that fandom should feel immersive, smart, and alive. That means podcasts, essays, recaps, interviews, reactions, community, and a point of view that actually sounds like real people.

Mary and Blake started the show in 2014 with a simple but brilliant premise: Mary has read the books; Blake has only seen the show. That tension became the engine. The contributor archive grew around it — writers with different strengths, different obsessions, and different ways into Diana Gabaldon’s world.

This page keeps the focus on the people actively represented in the new contributor archive, so readers can connect the site to the real humans behind the bylines.

Founders

Mary & Blake Larsen

Mary Larsen

Founder / Podcaster

Mary is a saxophonist who has worked in both film and television and somehow still finds room in daily life for perfectly timed book and movie quotes.

She has read the Outlander series and carries the rare burden of actually knowing what is coming — while still keeping things spoiler-safe for Blake and the audience.

Mary is one half of the engine that made Outlander Cast distinct from the start: thoughtful, emotionally tuned-in, and grounded in the books without ever feeling gatekeep-y.

Blake Larsen

Founder / Podcaster

Blake runs a family business, loves the Red Sox, motorcycles, movies, and speaks with exactly the Boston accent you’d expect from a man this committed to his opinions.

He has intentionally not read the Outlander books because he wants the show to stand on its own terms — which is part of what gives Outlander Cast its edge. He reacts to what is onscreen, not to what he knows is coming.

That makes him the perfect foil to Mary and the ideal audience proxy for fans who want the conversation to stay rooted in the episode, the craft, and the feeling of discovery.
