Weber landed the coveted role of Book 2/Season 2 villain Le Comte St. Germain (pronounced Lay-comt-sahn-jer-mahn). St. Germain is a wine merchant who is a competitor of Jamie Fraser’s cousin, Jared. It is Jared who agrees to take in Jamie and Claire after they flee Scotland for France in the Season 1 finale.
Claire and the Comte have an unusual and menacing first meeting in Paris and we see the Comte throughout the second book “Dragonfly in Amber” (upon which Season 2 of the TV series will be based) popping up in Jamie and Claire’s social circles and hovering nearby throughout most of their plotting to thwart Bonnie Prince Charlie’s plans to return to Scotland.
Stanley seems to fit right in with the men of Outlander as he’s been spotted around Glasgow and off-camera with Sam Heughan and others – oftentimes in the pub!
He also shares a love of the outdoors with Sam and, it appears, Hill Walking – albeit in the mountains of France rather than the Scottish Highlands.

Great choice! However, Sam will always be #1!
Louann — Indeed, it's hard to beat the King of Men. But, having a little more hunkiness on screen doesn't hurt either. Thanks for reading and commenting. Come back and see us on the Blog soon for more news and original content!
mineo — Sam is wonderful. No arguing that. But, it will be nice to see a bit of Stanley in Season 2. I'll be waiting for him 🙂 Thanks for reading and commenting!
He is wonderful!!!!!!
He'll do! No worries for our Sam, though…HE'S STILL OUR GUY!

Thank You Anne, well I think it was a brilliant decision to cast Stanley very handsome & playing the villain, it would be hard to choose in between these two man in handsomness, but Sam's wit, grace & just a nice guy wins for me,I have seen Stanley in 1 role very good in it,but of course Sam's performance is just excellent,he is JAMMF personified in my mind's eye!

zsuzsip — I can't argue with you about Sam's wit and grace. He's a stand-out there. And, yes, they are both very handsome and attractive albeit in different ways. I agree with you that Stanley is an excellent choice for the Comte but he'll have to prove himself. Outlander fans can be a tough crew! As always, thanks for reading and commenting. Talk to you again soon!
