Harry Potter With Mary & Blake: Books, Movies, HBO & The Potterverse

The stories we grew up with, the choices we still argue about, and a brand-new Hogwarts waiting on the other side.

Mary & Blake’s Harry Potter Headquarters
Come Back To Hogwarts.

Harry Potter is seven books, eight movies, HBO’s television adaptation, decades of fandom, and a story that feels different depending on when you return to it. This is the front door to Mary & Blake’s Potterverse, where our Books, Movies, HBO, and podcast coverage all connect without asking any one page to do every job.

We care about the magic, lore, casting, creatures, theories, and weird little details, but the questions that keep us at the table are usually about character, choice, story structure, filmmaking, adaptation, friendship, sacrifice, institutional failure, and why certain scenes still land years later.

What Kind Of Harry Potter Coverage Do We Make?

We are not trying to build a trivia encyclopedia. The Potterverse is interested in what Harry Potter is doing underneath the lore: why Harry trusts somebody, why Hermione chooses to lie, why a friendship breaks, why a mystery points us in the wrong direction, why a sacrifice matters, or why one adaptation decision changes the meaning of an entire scene.

That still leaves plenty of room for casting, theories, creatures, spells, weird details, rankings, and fandom arguments. We just like pulling a chair closer when those details reveal something about character, craft, filmmaking, adaptation, or what it costs these kids to grow up inside a story everyone already thinks they know.

The Question Underneath The Reboot

What Does A “Faithful” Harry Potter Adaptation Actually Mean?

Restoring more scenes from the novels does not automatically create a stronger adaptation. The real test is whether the new version understands the dramatic function underneath those scenes: Harry’s point of view, the mysteries that mislead him, the choices that define people, and the emotional consequences that make the magic matter.
