In this episode, Rhys and Felicity light up the studio with Pikachu—Pokédex #25 and the single most iconic Pokémon in the entire franchise.
They dive into what makes Pikachu the worldwide mascot of the series: its adorable design, its electric powers, its sky-high popularity, and that unmistakable spark from its bright red cheeks. From its pure Electric typing to moves and abilities that shock opponents (literally), Rhys and Felicity explain why Pikachu is beloved by beginners, veterans, and everyone in between.
Learn how its abilities Static and Lightning Rod make Pikachu dangerous up close and surprisingly strategic in battle. Discover why Ground types are Pikachu’s worst nightmare, and why sending Pikachu against an Onix is basically asking for disappointment. The siblings also explain Pikachu’s size, personality, and why its mood can accidentally determine whether everything around it gets zapped.
They explore fun facts about Pikachu’s cheek sparks, its forest-dwelling social groups, and its love for sweet berries. Plus, they break down Pikachu’s full evolution line — from tiny Pichu to classic Raichu or the chill, surfing Alolan Raichu — and share whether they would catch this world-famous mascot on their team.
Of course, they wrap up with an electric guitar joke (which surprisingly lands), and plenty of the energetic humor listeners expect.
