What Is Outlander: Blood Of My Blood?

Outlander: Blood of My Blood is the prequel to Outlander. The series follows two generations of love stories that eventually lead to Jamie and Claire: Brian Fraser and Ellen MacKenzie in 18th-century Scotland, and Julia and Henry Beauchamp, Claire’s parents.

That makes this more than a story about how Jamie Fraser’s parents met. Blood of My Blood reaches into both halves of the original series and asks how family, love, trauma, politics, loyalty, and even time travel were shaping Jamie and Claire’s world before either of them entered it.

For us, that is where the prequel gets interesting. The real question is not simply whether we recognize a name, a clan, or a piece of Outlander mythology. It is whether knowing these people changes the way we understand the story that comes later.
